HEN PARTY PICS and DETAILS!
This blog post is dedicated to my lovely colleague Alison who went off on maternity leave to have a little girl last week. I didn't get the chance to say goodbye to our number one fan, so Alison I wish you much love and happiness with your new addition when she arrives.
It was exactly what I wanted. The day started with Frances and I having breakfast in a super swanky hotel in London (I think in my excitement I have completely forgotten its name!) where I had caramelised banana pancakes. They were delicious. I was particularly pleased when my cappacino arrived with a heart on it. Either the waiter knew of had a thing for me as he kept touching my arm and gave me a wink!
As you can see I hadn't got ready for my evening out yet! We then headed over to the hotel to meet people as they arrived. The hotel, The Holborn Grange, was absolutely fantastic - the rooms were sleeping 4 of us and had lots of room.
Everybody arrived one by one and I managed to juggle giving everyone kisses and cuddles and getting ready! I felt fantastic in my dress and everybody looked equally amazing (annoyingly ;) )
All those staying in my room then piled into Laura, Kim, Faye and Denise's room where I was greeted with champagne (yummy!), strawberries (again yummy) and cupcakes (most yummy). My Maids of Honour, Laura and Kim did themselves proud. Everything went without a hitch and I enjoyed all of the toasts they did in my honour.
They even surprised me with photos from when we were younger some were lovely, some embarrassing but I will treasure it forever.
We then headed to TigerTiger for the meal during cocktail happy hour. I have a few cosmos but not too many as I wanted to remember the Phantom of the Opera! I had soup, veggie fajitas and choccie cake hmmm.
We then went to watch Phantom of the Opera which I asked to see as it was my mum's favourite musical and she should have been with us. I don't think she ever saw it on the stage but if she is anything like me it would have blown her away. I cried through most of it but only because the music as so powerful. Hats off to Mr Lloyd Webber.
Next it was back to TigerTiger where we danced the night away. I got rather drunk but not too drunk. We weren't the ony hens in there either but as we weren't wearing bunny ears etc we didn't get as much hassle
I haven't had as much fun in so long. It was great having all of my girlfriends together at once! As they live all over the place it has never happened before. The best bit for me was that everybody genuinel seemed to get on and enjoy each others company.
I did wear a sash bought for me by Hayley so I got a bit of attention in that (when I say attention I mean bum pinching) but it was all harmless good fun.
We went back to the hotel about 3am and I apparently ate a slice of pizza but that bit is a bit foggy. When we got back though we swigged the last of the champagne (by now flat) and ate the cupcakes. I ate two and felt quite sick afterwards. They were very yummy though. After a few hours sleep (and I mean a few) we headed for breakfast and then spa treatments.
My Indian Head massage and facial were fantastic. Then it was time for people to head home :( I wish we had another night but why spoil something that was perfect?
Kim and Laura organised everything and nothing went wrong. So here is my toast to them.
"When you were asked to by my Maids of Honour and both said yes I was delighted. You have both been there for me through the good and the bad. I love you both very much and I am so glad that you finally got to meet! Thank you for all of your help with regards to the wedding, I couldn't do it without you.xxxxxx"
I also want to thank Denise, Faye, Hayley, Frances, Pippa, Gemma and Vicky for coming and for the treats and drinks you bought me. I am so glad to have you all as friends :) lots of love to you too xxx
